So nice to hear someone from the medical community publicly voicing a concern parents have been having for years.

Moving Autism Forward by Team TACA

By: Dr. Bob Sears – Pediatrician and TACA Physician Advisory Member

The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics just released a study today entitled “Changes in Prevalence of Parent-Reported Autism Spectrum Disorder in School-aged U.S. Children: 2007 to 2011-2012.” (1) Their findings:  1 in 50 children ages 6-17 have autism.

#JudyBlumeProject Anthology CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS thru end of JUNE

Judy Blume, AuthorThe Judy Blume Project is a collaboration between blogger, Dana Talusani of The Kitchen Witch, and author/blogger Kim Jorgensen Gane of West Coast Posse.

We are compiling any manner of written works in honor of the prolific and iconic author’s contribution to juvenile/YA fiction.

The details (as well as some fabulous submissions, via participating blog posts) can be found on The Judy Blume Project Facebook page, by following us on Twitter (@thekitchwitch, @KimWCPosse), by following along at #JudyBlumeProject (please use this on your relevant Tweets to help spread the word to other authors and bloggers), and of course on either of our sites, as noted above.

Our mission is to send Judy Blume one great big, beautiful thank you from those of us who couldn’t have gotten through the turbulence of adolescence without her.

Judy’s work has been a gift to so many; this is the least we can do to honor her.  We would LOVE to have YOU on board!

If you’re working on a submission, please consider also tagging #amwriting, to help further our cause.

What we’ve seen so far has been incredible; touching, poignant.  But it doesn’t have to be.  Funny works, too, and you don’t have to be a *writer* by any means to participate.  You can submit via e-mail on either of our sites, whether or not you have a blog.

Dana and I can’t wait to see how it all lays out, and we can’t wait to hear from YOU!
